"HAPPY NEW YEAR TO YOU ALL!"
It’s the start of another new year, where does the time go? And what a start to the year! Snow is wonderful if its on a Christmas card and you’ve nowhere to go, but life and work goes on and I expect like the troopers we are we’ve all managed to get into work and carry on regardless of the weather.
Last year was bitter sweet. The conference in Belfast was outstanding, our colleagues in Belfast did an excellent job and the conference will go down in NAMEM history as one of the best. However as you all know, in October we lost our dear friend Ruth Bycroft, a long standing member of NAMEM, she will be sadly missed by us all.
Who knows what this year will bring, with the promise of a general election and the possible, or should I say probable, changes it will bring. But then we are used to changes and taking them all on board and carrying on regardless providing the service that, if we are honest, the NHS couldn’t really function without.
I promise that Council will continue to work hard on your behalf and for your benefit. Don’t forget we still encourage your participation in the work we do and would welcome any ideas and suggestions.
Finally I wish you all a very happy and healthy 2010 and hope to see you all at conference in Cardiff in September.
